Christmas Morning 25--Dec 2016

Hello Friends!

Today I am sharing  a layout I created using my December 2016 Scrap Stash kit. I was inspired to create this 2 pager by a Scrapbook Generation sketch.

Only one grandee, Ele, was at our house for Christmas morning in December 2015. But it was an amazing day for her. It's so wonderful to see the absolute magic of Christmas though a child's eyes.

These ornament stickers have been in my stash for years and I am glad to finally have used them up.

I used lots of scraps to make layering banners behind the photos and tag.

The stickers are layered up, I also added some enamel, wood and gold stickers around the title.

I stamped the date on the tag and again added the stars on this side as well.

UseYour Stuff Challenge #249--Add an Animal

Hello Friends!!

This weeks challenge over at the Use Your Stuff Challenge Blog is to have an animal on your layout.
I'm still working on Christmas layouts, so what better animal than a reindeer?!
I used my December 2016 Scrap Stash kit to create this layout.

I'm on a 2 page layout kick lately and I was inspired by a Scrapbook Generation layout.

I did follow the sketch by cutting out all the circles and banners from bits of scrap paper

I made some homemade flare with stickers underneath to use on some of the circles.

I layered up paper, washi, die cuts, flare and sequins in the corner. Beside the title, I used an older bling embellishment, I'm not entirely happy with how it looks slightly orange.

Another die cut piece here with a puffy arrow and thick twine. Can you see the date stamped over the tag.

Here is a gold doily topped with my reindeer. I gave him a red bling nose and added a piece of swirly bling pearls to give him movement.

My cars back end and back seat were full of gifts that we were taking to our grandees that weren't going to be at our house for Christmas.

We would love to see what you have created this week using the challenge. Make sure you stop by the blog and add your layout, card or other craft project with the links tool.

Believe--January 2017

Hello Friends!!

Today I am sharing a layout I created with my January 2017 Counterfeit Kit Challenge kit. The layout is of me. I was inspired to create this layout using sketch #301 from Creative Scrappers.

This is the last layout I created with my kit and it has a ton of scraps and little bits and pieces.

I added a ton of little word stickers , a piece of wood veneer tag and even a flare.

I used a wood veneer as my title and the tile alpha to make it into a phrase.

Finally I added some enamel dots and even some chipboard pieces.

Together is Best--December 2015 scrap stash

Hello Friends!!

Today I am sharing a layout I created using my December 2015 Stash kit.

The photos were taken at Toys R Us when my husband and boys took the grandees shopping for Christmas.

I used 9 photos on this layout and tons of scraps.

They had a close encounter with the TRU Giraffe.

I even used a scrap from a Christmas card from years past, it's the little tag with the tree and bird.

Pulled in cork, bling, stickers and even a doily.

Love that big title piece from Freckled Fawn.

Remember Joy--December 2015 scrap stash

Hello friends!!

Today I am sharing a layout I made with my December 2015 scrap stash kit. Some of the supplies in the kit are from the last couple of months, but most are from the last several years.

The layout is of Mr Gulley and myself wrapping Christmas presents. We keep them all in the spare room until a couple of weeks before Christmas and then we set up a wrapping station in the kitchen and get them all wrapped in one day.

I bought these pocket page cards in 2014 I believe and am just now getting around to using them. I know the chalkboard look isn't all that popular anymore but that's ok...I like how they look on this layout.

The tiny multicolored washi tape along the bottom and the green and gold washi tape along the green cardstock are new this year. The Christmas tree washi tape is at least 2 years old, prolly more and the gold foil washi tape is one year old.

Love the gold doily, it's new this year. The red floral strip is actually a border strip, as is the present paper at the top.

I had another piece of the present border strip left and tucked it in here.

I know this layout was created using an Allison Davis sketch but I don't know which one and I don't remember if I replaced photos for embellishments. Whoopsie!!

Gift Album Layouts--Nov 2014 CKC

Hello Friends!

Here are a couple of layouts I created for a gift album using my November 2014 CKC kit.

This layout is 8 1/2 by 11 and used some really older paper tape (before washi tape) and some really old stickers and brads.

This layout is also an 8 1/2 by 11 and used some older burlap ribbon and some older rub-ons. I used older scraps of cream cardstock to layout where and what sizes my photos need to be.

Scraproom Update June 2016--Washi Tape

Hello Friends!!

Today I am sharing a close up of how I store my Washi tape.

I have 2 drawers in my Jet Max drawers that are devoted to Washi tape. One is thinner than the other and I used foam core board to create dividers that I just taped into place. The other is deeper and I used clear acrylic containers that fit in exactly. I have sorted my Washi by color, like everything else in my scrap room, although some categories are a bit general, if the role is multicolored, then if fits into whichever color group if feels like...I hope that makes sense.

I keep my Christmas washi tape separate and I also keep my metallic and glitter tapes separate.

Gift Album Layouts--November 2014 CKC

Hello Friends!!

Today I am sharing a couple of layouts I created for an 8 1/2 x 11 gift album using my November 2014 Counterfeit Kit Challenge kit.

I was getting down to just scraps in my kit and used a couple of border strips along the edge of this layout. I even broke out one of my punches to create the scalloped edge. I added in lots of acetate and some flower stickers that had been in my stash for awhile. I even did some stamping on the background.

More acetate pieces and older sticker here. I used my punch again on one of the border strips.

This layout used some old paper tape (before washi tape) down the side of the photo mats. I added in several older stickers and even some bling.

I used the other half of the paper tape (flourished scallops) down the side of the pattern paper.
The photo mats are scraps of cream and in some cases other color papers to help with photo placement as well as sizing.

UYS Challenge #248--December 2016

Hello Friends!!

This weeks challenge is to use heat embossing and water coloring on a project. I used those techniques on 3, I made 3 Christmas cards from my December 2016 Christmas Stash kit. The weather didn't agree with my photography efforts today, so I ended up taking a stand up photo along with a photo that is flat to show more of the metallic tones.

The first one I used velum over the area where I used water coloring, I had stamped the Angel in gold ink and covered with clear embossing powder.

I stamped the holly leaves on the envelope of all 3 cards and colored the green dots with a red sharpie pen. On the vellum I added 3 bitty red bling.

I decided to stamp directly on the watercolor area on this card.

The watercolor paint I used was shimmered.

I initially was going to stamp the inside sentiment on the front of this card so I painted the water color a little higher, then changed my mind. I might go back later and add something to that green area, just not sure what yet.

I had to use my heat tool to dry the ink on the vellum.

The inside and the envelope of all 3 cards is exactly the same.

Thanks for visiting my blog today!!!

I hope I inspired you to dig into your stash today and create something unique. We would love to see what you create over at the UYS blog, so head over there and use the link tool to show us.

XOXO--Jan 2017

Hello Friends!!

Today I am sharing a layout I created using my January 2017 Counterfeit Kit Challenge kit.  The photo is of my sweet hubby and myself last summer. I never really think about how pale I am until I see myself next to him and he's all tan. Ugh!!

I was inspired to create this layout by Sketch # 258 at the Sketches in Thyme Blog.

I added the chipboard title and some twine to make it a banner, I anchored the chipboard with a couple of brads.

I cut one of the wood veneer tags and stretched it to come out the bottom of the photo, I did the same with the burlap.

I also added in some enamel dots and even some die cut butterflies from my leftovers bowl on my desk.

I even pulled in some buttons from my BASHket to use on this layout. I layered them up and tied some twine through them.

Tis The Season to Believe--Dec 2015 scrap stash

Hello Friends!!

Today I am sharing a layout I made using my December 2015 scrap stash kit. It included supplies that I had bought in the past couple of months to supplies that I have hade for nearly 10 years.

The layout is of my sweet grandee Ele meeting Santa Clause for the first time. She was as excited as you can expect an 8 month old to be...she did sit still but she puckered up and was crying the whole time.

The Merry Christmas paper is one that I embossed in 2014 to use on Christmas cards and never got it used, I glad I held onto it and actually got it used here. The tis the season clear sticker is one that I bought at least 10 year ago if not longer.

Love the gold doilies that I added to my stash this month.

The background flourished paper is from CTMH, I'm not sure if it's from 2014 or 2015.
