My Sweet Shani's First Layouts

I know everyone gets tired of me talking about my grand kids...or at least showing layouts of them! LoL!!! Well that's just tough, I'm a grand mother and I love my grand kiddos more than I could ever even try to describe! So now that you know how much I love them, let me just tell you how clever I think they are! My sweet little Shani decided that she wanted to make some real layouts...like Sweetie does (yes that is what she calls me!). So I let her go to my paper drawer and pull out whatever she wanted along with my scraps and her sticker box. After she found lots of paper to play with she dug through all of my photos that I have duplicates of and she found this one of her cousin Cameron. This is what she came up with.....
I just love that she choose her cousin to be her very first page!

And her second page was me! LoL!! I told her we needed to put my name on here and she said for me to do it and I told her no, I would help her spell my name but she had to choose the stickers and then put them on the layout...she said later and that was that! So now the next time she comes over I will pull this layout out and ask if she is ready to put my name on it.

March CKC layout #6

This is my beautiful niece Amanda's little boy Kason. He was born in January of last year...yes I know...I'm behind the times!

I used lots of stamping here and a little sewing and 2 different alpha stickers.
I used my sew easy tool to make these little flowers across the bottom of this tag.
This little journal spot has been in my stash for several years...I've had a tough time using them because of the golden yellow color, but somehow I mixed all the yellows on this page and it worked!
Another little arrow....I'm trying to get the entire sheet used up with this kit!
I love that I used this old journal card AND that I used so many of my stamps to journal with! I really tried to use them more this month.

March CKC layout #5

I made this layout from my March CKC kit, I didn't know if I could make it work but I think it turned out great. I added a few chipboard pieces, 3 different alphas (that weren't in my kit), a leather star and some washi tape. I used an AD sketch from the Sketch Support Blog, it's #2 of the 2 pagers.

I didn't have just the right fonts in my kit so I added the three you see here. The added chipboard pieces are all in the journal spots and the leather star is on the top right photo.
I've seen it done on other people's layouts but I've never had to do it on mine! LoL!! I ran out of these punch out letters so I had to cut around the remainder of the letter on the punch out page to fill in and I love how it turned out. I used the orange border E from another set.
I punched out the journal spots from the large arrow page I had and put some cute pieces of chipboard that I had in the middle. I made them into flowers by adding the orange washi tape to the bottom of each one.
Here's another arrow, I kinda wish I had used a different color here so that it would stand out more, but at this point I'm not going to redo it!
Here's the leather star.
Here's the journal spot on the right side of the page with the chipboard center and washi tape stem.

March CKC layout #4

Here's another double page layout with pictures from last summer, "Play Day"...

Before we headed off to 6 flags we spent the day at home and part of that day was spent at Chuck E. Cheese, so of course the adults and kids alike had a play day!
I just wanted a close up of the paper, it has a beautiful  blue green tint in real life, otherwise you might think it was just navy blue.
I used 4 different fonts for this title. The chipboard yes, the bracket and the black square are all part of a set from scenic route that I added after my kt was put together, it added some more bright color to the layout other than just the photos.
I used my Quickutz Blue Sky dies to cut the title out with some scrap paper and one of the yellow sheets of paper.

The layout itself was inspired by a Disney layout I did at the GASC a couple of years ago, I tweaked it a little and came up with this, the original is by Andrea Hancock-Deer of the Whole Kit & Kaboodle.

March CKC layout #3

More pool pictures from last summer and this one is a double layout using an Allison Davis Sketch, it's sketch #1 from the Sketch Support Blog, "Splash Fun."
I just love how this one came together AND the fact that it has 10 photos! Who knew all those random bits and pieces would work together, it just took the spectacular colors in the pictures to pull it all together!

I've had that blue swirl bling thing in my stash for a while, prolly 2 or 3 years. and how about that basic grey border strip, I just added a piece of sheer ribbon behind it and it really pops. I added another CTMH border strip here too.
I stamped the word together on this tag and added a little bit of bling to the little square and popped it up.
The old metal tag is from Miss Elizabeth from years ago and the laughter and fun tags came in packages to be used under those little metal squares, ovals, rectangles and circles that punch through the paper. I had way more word tags than I did the metal pieces but I still have some of those in various colors in my stash...maybe next month I will challenge myself to use some of them.
The little tags were in the package from American crafts, such fun colors, I stamped the forever & always on the second one and popped it up.
I love this sentiment! I added a little pop and an arrow behind it.
Here's another little bling piece that I've had in my stash for a couple of years, I added it to this kit when I pulled out the pool pictures. I stamped the word fun for a title "Splash Fun."

March CKC Layout #1 & #2

I tried a new technique for me...I cut out hexagon shaped from one of my patterned papers to tie two layouts together. The first layout started out as a Shimell starting point
I used 3 photos down the right side and she used 1 on the upper portion.

The second page is from Sketch Support and where the hexagons are there was ornaments...
The difference besides the hexagons where the ornaments were is the longer photo on the lower right corner.
So even though they are from 2 different sketch sources I think they work well together and the hexagons totally tie them together. I loved using a new technique that is so trendy right now. OK...so it's just cutting out shapes, but I love the effect.
I used glitter in the center of the flowers on the bottom of the journal tag. On the title tag (an old swap item) I used 2 different alphas, I had to be creative to make the O's because I didn't have any, so I used Q's and cut the tails off. The little pinwheel embellishment is one that I made last summer. I used some basic grey paper taper and the plaid and X-stitch is actually a border sticker from CTMH.
More paper tape, a small square from the swap, a little metal rim tag from Miss Elizabeth and I'm not really sure where the tag came from with the date on it.
The brads are from CTMH.
2 more small squares from an old swap, I added the smile chipboard (it wasn't in my kit to begin with), the alphas are from CTMH and the small embellishment with circles are some that I made last summer.
Another chipboard piece that I added to this kit.
A couple more chipboard pieces that I added to the kit.

Last Month's CKC kit

Before I get into this month's layouts using my CKC kit I want to show the last couple of layouts from last month's kit. Here's my Wonderboy With the Watergun! LoL!! This layout is of Cameron my grandson and his antics with the watergun and playing in the pool.

I used some clouds that I cut out with my Quickutz and stitched over the top with twine.

Here's one of the embellishments that I made last summer and a little more stitching.

I used another embellishment that I made and I made flags with word chipboard's and tooth pics.

Another embellishment made out of scraps from last summer.

I bought this cloth tag years ago, it's actually the 3rd or 4th one like it that I have used, I loved them and bought that many packages. The red tag is from a set of tags I bought, I'm not sure of the manufacturer since the tags are double sided.

The metal tags are from a kit by making memories and the green swirls are a piece of a border that I bought last summer at the GASC.

I used alphas from my stash, thickers and scenic route. The water cut was a bull horn and I cut it to the shape of a gun and painted it with green and orange to try and mimic  the watergun in the pictures.

March CKC kit

This months CKC kit is based on this lovely kit from Birds of a Feather.....

Of course I don't know how to make a little kit...although by my previous standards this is a small kit for me. I pulled a little of this and that from my stash and I've titled this kit...

"Outdoor fun"

All of my paper is at the bottom of this post if you want a close look. at that first.
I pulled my liquid glass out and jars of blue and gold glitter to use.
These are a package of  American Crafts tags that I just bought recently at Tuesday Morning.
This sticker sheet will eventually get used up...it's from Creative Imaginations and the copyright date is 2007.
The tags above and below have been in my beach themed file for quite some time, they are also from Creative Imaginations and they are punch outs and their copyright date is 2002.

The butterflies I punched out of scrap paper using my Quickutz Revolution (or I guess it's now called Lifestyles), the other tags and such are from MME's, Two Busy Moms (2003), and Anna Griffin. The pale yellow and blue tag and squares in the bottom left corner are from a swap that I was in years and years and years ago (I quit swapping in 2007).
These are more lefovers, the bottom border is from Basic Grey and the other 2 are from CTMH.
Another pile of random embellishments. The pink and yellow circles and the yellow squares under them have been in my collection before my oldest grand daughter was born in 2005. There are embellies from MME's, Miss Elizabeth, CTMH and other manufactres that I don't have any recollection of.
Raw chipboard pieces of from Basic Grey.
More swap items leftover from years ago.
CTMH stamp sets I hope to use on my layouts and cards this month.
Ribbon is from Michael's and CTMH, the twine is from Sew Easy and the paper tape is from Basic Grey.
I believe the dark blue ones are from a bush of them I got at the dollar store years ago, the darker yellow ones are from CTMH, and I believe the lighter blue and the lighter 2 shades of yellow are from prima.
That blue tall alpha is a Chatterbox alpha, the white on kraft square alpha is from Jillibean Soup, the yellow is from Basic Grey amd the lighter blue squares are from MLS.
The bling is from Want to Scrap, Recollections, Prima and random selections.
Metal is a mix of Basic Grey and CTMH.
Rub-ons are from Scrap Within Reach, middle stickers from Making Memories and the final sticker set is from CTMH (there's actually 4 sheets in this package with a sheet of alpha in cream color).
Arrows and Journal spots are from Scenic Route.
Here's all the paper together and there is quite a mix...
Cardstock is a mix between Bazzill and CTMH; the corrugated piece is from Hobby Lobby.
Here's all the pattern paper together, I went from dark blue to a turquoisy/teel blue with creams and yellows.
There is a mixture of CTMH, Making Memories, Scenic Route, Scrap Within Reach, and Karen Foster.
