Let Your Light Shine Through--Dec 2016

Hello Friends!!

Today I am sharing a layout I created using my December 2016 Stash kit.

The photos are of my sweet grandee Shani in a Christmas production in which she was Rudolph. You can't tell lit well but she has her blinky nose around her neck while she was doing her speaking part.

I used a wood veneer with a red bitty bling to make him a Rudolph. And that old title  embellishment is from many, many years ago. I have kept it in my stash with the hopes of using it and I am so glad I finally did.

This is actually a book pocket type tag from a Target tag kit, I just used it to hold a tag with the story of the day.

Love too that I was able to use another of those old arrow pieces. The little glittered deer head on the upper left of the title piece is actually a gift tag that I cut off the to/from portion.

Here's a close up of the inside tag.

And the journaling on the back.

Sparkle & Shine--Christmas 2016

Hello Friends!

Here is a layout I created using my December 2016 Stash kit.

I used lots of scraps on this layout along with some stickers, washi tape and a large wood veneer.

Here's a look at all the paper layers under the photo.

I added bitty bling to the tree to give it some sparkle. There is a branding strip along with wash tape towards the bottom of the photo.

I squeezed a bit of that Christmas tree tape I found at the Target dollar spot in 2016. I used another of the JCP flair from several years ago too.

I added a little holly berry and leaf sticker and added some bitty bling to the holly berries for some extra bling.

Good Times With Family--March 2016 CKC

Hello Friends!!

Today I am sharing a layout I created using my March 2016 Counterfeit Kit Challenge kit or my Scrap Stash kit.

The photos are of my Sister Angie, her kits Jeremy and Amber and our mother Anne.

I was inspired to create this layout by Glittergirl Episode #135

I did my journaling on this gold rimmed tag.

I added more of the butterfly banner pieces on the layout.

I was finally able to use those enamel squares...that are about 15 years old.

I layered up 3 different washi tapes in 3 spots on the layout and added a part of the title on a sticker tag.

UYS Challenge #252--5, 4, 3, 2, 1

Hello Friends!!

Today's challenge over at the Use Your Stuff Challenge Blog is a 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 challenge. 5 hearts, 4 colors, 3 photos, 2 patterns and 1 metal. I'm sure you could use any combination to create your project, the real goal is to get into your stash and se it up!!!

The photos are actually out take from a trip we took a couple of summers ago. But I really liked them and want to use them to create a layout.

I was inspired to create this layout using a Pagemaps Sketch from May 2016 using my April 2016 Counterfeit Kit Challenge kit.

It started out as a grid layout and I tweaked it a little by tilting paper and photos.

I used lots of rub ons on this layout, can you see the ones behind the cork embellishment. I added some gold and wood veneer chipboard heats into the clusters.

I also added lots of cord to this layout. Can you tell how many patterns I used? I count 9 with 2 solid papers in as matts.

The metal ended up being a flare.

I hope I inspired you to dig into your stash and create something today! If you haven't already been over to the UYS blog, head over there and check out the other designers projects. If you decide to play along this week make sure you share it!!!

Scrapbook Room Update dies-- June 2016

Hi friends!

Today I am sharing how I store my dies.

I have an older file cabinet and it sits right beside the table in my scrap room. My Big Shot sits on top of it along with my acrylic box of alpha dies.

In the drawer I have my stamps in Avery Elle Sleeves on magnetic sheets attached to chipboard.

I have the smaller dies on the left and the larger dies on the right, in front of those is where I keep my shim papers, my embossing plates, my extra cutting plates and my extra chipboard and magnetic sheets.

Here is the top, I keep my 12 inch magnetic plate behind the Big Shot and my larger alpha storage behind that.

I bought simple sleeves from the office supply store and placed my alpha dies on magnetic sheets, on chipboard, and then labeled each font. If I had an image of how the font looks, I taped it to the front of the sleeve.

UYS Challenge #251--BINGO

Hello Friends!!

This weeks challenge at the Use Your Stuff Challenge blog is to play BINGO...my bingo was in the form of enamel dots, bling, pink and stamping.
The photo is of my sister and her 2 children.
I used my April 2016 Counterfeit Kit Challenge kit to create this layout.

I started this layout with a little mixed media, I used a wood grain stencil to add in some green and white  embossing paste to the black background, rather than stamping I decided this technique would work for my layout. I then added a couple of scraps to the background and a 6x6 piece of paper.

I used a frame for the background of the photo and added some old rub ons to the left of the word celebrate, I added some bling to the centers of the flowers.

Below the word moment, I used enamel triangles to create arrows towards the photo with some additional bling below that on more rub on flowers.

Rather than stamping I decided to use embossing. I had originally tried to use gold ink with the stencil and it didn't show up, so I added gold embossing paste on top of that...didn't really go with the photo so I then added some green and white embossing paste. I used the background papers to cover the gold embossing paste.

Finally this bottom left corner has more rub on flower nd bling. You can see pink was in the background papers but not a major element.

I  hope I inspired you to create something with your stash. If you haven't already visited the UYS blog, head over there and play along this week, we would love to see what you create using your stash.

You're Just Plain Wonderful--March 2016 CKC

Hello Friends!!

Today I am sharing a layout I created using my March 2016 Counterfeit Kit Challenge kit or my Scrap Stash kit.

The photo is of my mother Anne.

I was inspired to create this layout by Terry Hanson over at the Scrap Your Scraps FB Group.

I used tons of scraps and border strips to create the background, I layered them all on a piece of white cardstock.

I added the doily and tissue paper in to this kit, they weren't part of the original kit.

I layered up canvas stickers, acetate pieces, washi tape and random ephemera.

I used some acetate stickers around the layout as well.
